Meeting was called to order by Chairman John Patcle.
Steve Braun verified the agenda has been posted by the County Clerk at the Administration Building, Courthouse, and also
on the county Website. Vince, second by Lester, motioned to approve the agenda as mailed. The minutes were approved in a
motion by Pat and second by Robert. All above motions carried.
The Monthly Director’s Report was given by Steve Braun.
Under Old Business Steve updated the group on the Hazard Mitigation Plan. Four kick -off meetings have been set up and
should be accomplished by March 15. These meetings involve elected officials reviewing the old plan, updating and bringing
in new project ideas. This plan must be updated every 5 years.
Steve discussed AFG grants. 55% of the federal money has been awarded to date. Although we did very well with regional
applications, many individual department shave received rejection letters this year. There are still a few individual
department grants pending. They include Bagley, Fennimore and Muscoda. We are uncertain why individual departments
did not do as well this year, but have requested clarification from FEMA for the 2012 application period/process. This seems
to be the case throughout Wisconsin, as only 40 grants have been awarded statewide so far. Grant County ha s received four.
Under New Business, Steve shared information about the 2012 Governor’s Conference on Emergency Management with the
committee and invited them to attend. It will be held in Appleton again this year and Steve is planning to go
