Director’s Monthly Report: In the last two weeks we have been working on open FEMA projects from
the 2013 flooding event. Steve attended the Grant County Townships Association meeting and spoke
with several townships who still have not received the rest of their payment. Our office has been
working with Wisconsin Emergency Management (WEM) and the townships to get the paperwork in
order so the payments can be received. There has been an issue with WEM being understaffed due to
some employee turnover and that has caused some of the delay.
The Hazmat Team had a meeting last week and did the State required inventory. We have had the
drone out and testing it. Steve has been working with Linda and Randy Peterson on insurance for the
drone. They wanted to categorize it as an aircraft. The drone does have coverage for damages but the
liability is still a grey area. Steve will be working with Randy to get it figured out.
Our intern Jacob Lindauer will be starting this Thursday and will be doing an inventory of the mass
casualty trailers. He then will be helping with some projects related to the Emergency Operations Plan
(EOP) update.
Last month we tested all the storm sirens. Everything went well. There were just a few minor issues.
Bloomington has some issues with the fire and storm siren sticking and not shutting off. They are aware
of the issue and have been working to fix the problem.
This week we will be working on submitting our First Half Report to the State.
There was an audit performed last week for the CDBG grant for the County. The State came to monitor
and make sure the paperwork was in order. Steve is hoping to wrap up the LTRC in Boscobel shortly.
There are two new families that fell through the cracks that will be discussed. There are also some
repair projects that have not yet been started but will begin this spring.
We were notified the Boscobel EMS was the recipient of an AFG grant. They will receive $25,000 for a
12 lead EKG heart monitor that has the capability to transmit the information via cell phone to the
hospital.
It was motioned by Bob S. and second by Larry to adjourn to June 8, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. Motion carried.
Respectfully Submitted,
Tonya White, Recording Secretary
