March 27, 2024
The Grant County Administrator Selection Committee met on Wednesday, March 27, 2024 at 8:30 a.m.
at the Administration Building, 111 S. Jefferson Street, Lancaster, WI 53813 in Room 266, Second Floor.
Members present: Gary Ranum, Robert Keeney, Roger Guthrie, Joseph Mumm and Kathy Kopp. Others
present in the room were Tonya White and David Timmerman. Other present by Zoom were David Bretl
and Jon Hockhammer.
The meeting was called to order at 8:30 a.m. by Chairman Robert Keeney. Tonya White verified the
meeting was held in compliance with the open meeting law, posted in the Administration Building,
Courthouse and on the county website.
Approval of Agenda: Kathy Kopp, second by Roger Guthrie made a motion to approve the agenda.
Motion carried by voice vote.
Approval of minutes from the March 12, 2024 and March 22, 2024 meetings: Gary Ranum, second by
Joseph Mumm made a motion to approve the minutes from the March 12, 2024 and March 22, 2024
meetings with one change. Motion carried by voice vote.
Convene to closes session pursuant to Wis. Stat. sec 19.85(1)(c) considering employment, promotion,
compensation or performance evaluation data of any public employee over which the governmental
body has jurisdiction or exercises responsibility as it relates to the County Administrator interviews:
Joseph Mumm, second by Kathy Kopp made a motion to convene to closed session. A roll call vote was
taken with five (5) in favor of convening to closed session. Motion carried.
Return to Open Session: Roger Guthrie, second by Gary Ranum made a motion to convene to open
session. Motion carried by voice vote.
Action on closed session item, if any: Joseph Mumm, second by Roger Guthrie made a motion to pause
recruitment and not extend an offer to either candidate and reassess the recruitment strategy. Motion
carried by voice vote.
Adjournment: Roger Guthrie, second by Kathy Kopp made a motion to adjourn to the call of the chair.
Motion carried by voice vote.
