June 11, 2024
The Grant County Administrator Selection Committee met on Tuesday, June 11, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at the
Administration Building, 111 S. Jefferson Street, Lancaster WI 53813 in Room 264, Second Floor.
Members present in the room: Gary Ranum, Robert Keeney, Roger Guthrie, Joseph Mumm and Kathy
Kopp. Others present in the room were Tonya White. Others present by Zoom were David Bretl, Jon
Hockhammer, Nate Dreckman and Jeff Kindrai.
The meeting was called to order at 1:20 p.m. by Chairman Robert Keeney. Tonya White verified the
meeting was held in compliance with the open meeting law, posted in the Administration Building,
Courthouse and on the county website.
Approval of Agenda: Gary Ranum, second by Joseph Mumm made a motion to approve the agenda.
Motion carried by voice vote.
Approval of Minutes from the March 27, 2024 meeting: Roger Guthrie, second by Kathy Kopp made a
motion to approve the minutes from the March 27, 2024 meeting. Motion carried by voice vote.
Discussion and possible action on compensation for Administrator: Chairman Keeney turned the
meeting over to David and Jon to discuss the proposal. PAA suggested to leave the job description as is
and concentrate on hiring an Administrator and then let the Administrator guide them in the hiring of an
HR Director. Raising the compensation to $130,000 will help a bit but $130,000 is still on the low end
range for new hires. Joseph Mumm, second by Kathy Kopp made a motion to change the salary from
$110,000 to $130,000 and take the change to the County Board. Motion carried by voice vote.
Discussion and possible action on recruitment documents: There will be no changes to the documents
except possibly the pay grade.
Discussion and possible action of recruitment timeline: There will be some minor changes on the
brochure including the new deadline and salary. Once the County Board approves the new salary, the
recruitment will start on June 19, 2024 with a deadline of July 19, 2024. July 30, 2024 will be the meeting
for the selection of the final candidates, with a meet and greet occurring on August 9, 2024. County
Board approval will take place on August 20, 2024 and background checks will take place the week of
August 26, 2024. Early to mid-October for estimated start date.

vote.
