HomeMy WebLinkAbout01 BOH Minutes 012522jk Grant County Board of Health January 25, 2022 5:30pm PRESENT: Carol Beals; Robert Keeney; Mary Kay Logemann; Greg Frey; Jeff Kindrai; Porter Wagner; Robert Scallon; Amy Miller; Dwight Nelson Also Present: Herald Independent Call to Order: Carol Beals, Chair called the meeting to order at 5:30pm. Open Meeting Law Certification: The agenda was posted online, sent to the news media and posted in county buildings. Approval of Agenda: Dwight Nelson made a motion to approve the agenda as posted, second by Robert Scallon. Carried Approval of Minutes (12/07/2021): Porter Wagner made a motion to approve the minutes from the December meeting as presented, second by Mary Kay Logemann. Carried. Vouchers It was noted that an end of year update will be needed. Dwight Nelson made a motion to approve the vouchers for November and December, second by Greg Frey. Carried. Monthly Financial Reports: The monthly financial reports for November and December were reviewed. Greg Frey made a motion to approve the November and December Financial Reports, second by Dwight Nelson. Carried. Seminar and Training Updates: Reviewed one workshop. COVID-19 Updates: A full report was given on COVID-19 cases in Grant County. A report was given on community testing. An update on COVID-19 vaccine was given. Staffing Requests and Updates: a. Refill Social Worker MSW (Health) Discussion about re-filling the position and having the pay range reviewed by the wage consultant. Robert Scallon made a motion to approve refilling the position, second by Greg Frey. Carried. b. LTE LPN Position - $22.89/hour A LTE LPN position was created in 2007 but never filled. The Health Department wanted to try to fill it at this time. Since it was lower pay than vacant positions it would be covering for it would not cause a budget overage Mary Kay Logemann made a motion to approve filling the position, second by Dwight Nelson. Carried. c. LTE Certified Medication Aide or Technician Position - $17.62/hour This is a current position at Orchard Manor. The health department wanted to explore creating and filling a CMA position to assist with the workload until fully staffed. Greg Frey made a motion to forward the request to create a LTE CMA on to the Executive Committee for consideration, second by Mary Kay Logemann. Carried. Director’s Report: An All Staff meeting is planned for January 26, 2022 Working on the Civil Rights Plan due in March Working on the departmental report Preparing for State Survey Assistant Director’s Report: CMS vaccine rule goes into effect Thursday Value based purchasing pay reform for Home Health was delayed. Adjournment: Dwight Nelson made a motion to adjourn, second by Robert Scallon, Carried Next meeting will be February 22, 2022 at 5:30pm.
