HomeMy WebLinkAbout04 BOH Minutes 042622jk Grant County Board of Health April 26, 2022 5:30pm PRESENT: Carol Beals; Robert Keeney; Mary Kay Logemann; Jeff Kindrai; Amy Miller; Diane Nelson; Brandon Snyder; Brian Lucey; Elias Cox; Grant County Herald Independent; Jen Kasper (joined late) Absent: Dr. Neil Martin; Dr. Matt Andrews (did contact Director by email) Call to Order: Robert Keeney called the meeting to order at 5:30pm. Open Meeting Law Certification: The agenda was posted online, sent to the news media and posted in county buildings. Election of Chair Diane Nelson was nominated by Brandon Snyder to be Chair. Elias Cox made a motion to close nominations and cast a unanimous ballot for Diane Nelson, seconded by Brandon Snyder. Carried Election of Vice Chair Carol Beals was nominated by Brandon Snyder to be Vice Chair. Elias Cox made a motion to close nominations and cast a unanimous ballot for Carol Beals, seconded by Brandon Snyder. Carried Election of Secretary Brandon Snyder was self-nominated to be Secretary. Elias Cox made a motion to close nominations and cast a unanimous ballot for Brandon Snyder, seconded by Carol Beals. Carried Approval of Agenda: Elias Cox made a motion to approve the agenda, second by Brandon Snyder. Carried Approval of Minutes (03/22/2022): Elias Cox made a motion to approve the minutes from the March meeting as presented, second by Brandon Snyder. Carried. Public Comments: None Request to Provide Information to Board Relating to Wind Turbines – Dr. Gloria Belken: A hand out was provided to the Board of Health. Dr. Belken spoke. Dr. Belken requested that the Board of Health Members review a video (she will provide a link) and requested to be on the next meeting agenda to present more information. Vouchers Carol Beals made a motion to approve the vouchers for March, second by Brandon Snyder. Carried. Monthly Financial Reports: The monthly financial reports for March were reviewed. Brandon Snyder made a motion to approve the March financial report, second by Elias Cox. Carried. Seminar and Training Updates: Nothing to report for March Staffing Requests and Updates: The Department is waiting on a wage determination from the consultant on a WIC position. It will be shared with the Board of Health at the meeting following the recommendation being received from the consultant. Director’s Report: A report was given on COVID-19 cases in Grant County. A report was given on community testing. An update on COVID-19 vaccination was given. The new UW -Population Health County Health Rankings will be out this week In person WIC will be an option for WIC participants starting in June or July 2022 Assistant Director’s Report: Home Health billing started with Health Care First. An Admission Specialist was hired to fill a vacancy due to retirement. The Department is preparing for routine Hospice and Home Health state surveys. The proposed final rule projects a 2.7% increase in Hospice payments The new OASIS E assessment is coming in January 1, 2023 Adjournment: Carol Beals made a motion to adjourn, second by Brandon Snyder, Carried Next meeting will be June 28, 2022 at 5:30pm.
