December 20, 2011
The Economic, Resource and Tourism Committee met on December 20, 2011 at 8:35 a.m. in
Room 201 on Second Floor of the Administration Building pursuant to the last meeting of
November 8, 2011.
Members present: John Beinborn, Vince Loeffelholz, Carol Beals and Grant Loy. Ron Brisbois,
Economic Development and Todd Johnson, Extension Comm. Resource Agent was present also.
The meeting was called to order by Chair John Beinborn. The County Clerk verified that the
meeting was in compliance with the open meeting law, published in the Herald Independent and
posted in two places.
Vince Loeffelholz, seconded by Grant Loy, made a motion approve the agenda. Motion carried.
Grant Loy, seconded by Carol Beals, made a motion to approve the minutes of November 8,
2011. Motion carried.
Revolving Loan: Ron Brisbois, Economic Development, presented two Revolving Loan
applications as follows. Both loans have been approved by their committees:
1. Schurman’s Wisconsin Cheese Country Inc., Beetown, WI location—Loan amount
$36,000, rate 3%, term 7 years. Will use loan to purchase new cheese cutting and
wrapping equipment. The total Project will cost $100,000. Retention of 24 workers.
The new equipment will allow the company to be more efficient with their cheese
packaging operations. Collateral: Personal Guarantee from Lorraine Schurman and Jim
Morgan.
2. Kraemer’s Water Store/Knappers Water Store – Lancaster, WI—Loan $20,000, rate 3%,
term 7 years. Create 3 new full time jobs and retain 12. The loan will be used to
purchase new equipment for the Knappers Water Store which is being purchased by
Mark Kraemer of Kraemer’s Water Store. Mark Kraemer has 37 years in the water
treatment and sales business. The total project will cost approximately $500,000.
Collateral: Personal Guarantee on mortgage lien on property in Richland Center or
equipment.
Carol Beals, seconded by Vince Loeffelholz made a motion to approve the Schurman’s
Wisconsin Cheese Country Inc. revolving loan for $36,000. Motion carried
Carol Beals, seconded by Grant Loy made a motion to approve the Kraemer’s Water
Store/Knapper Water Store, Lancaster, WI revolving loan for $20,000. Motion carried.
Grant Applications: Todd Johnson, Extension Dept Agent, has received an application from
Stonefield Village. Todd sent the paper work back to them to have them completely fill out the
full document for approval. Applications will need to be received by January 13th, 2012.
CGI Update: Todd Johnson, Extension Dept Agent sent the document back to them with some
minor corrections. When the corrections were made this interrupted the sound in a portion of the
tape. CGI will correct the problem.
