HomeMy WebLinkAboutEconomic Tourism Resource July 15 2014Economic, Tourism & Resource Committee July 15, 2014 5:30 p.m. Administration Building Committee members present: John Beinborn, Robert Scallon, Grant Loy, Dan Timmerman and Carol Beals. Ron Brisbois presented the Revolving Loan Applications. Linda K. Gebhard, County Clerk, verified that the meeting was posted properly (Administrative Building, Courthouse, and the County’s website). Agenda: Motion made by Grant Loy to approve the agenda as posted, seconded by Dan Timmerman. Motion carried. Minutes: No previous meeting minutes were presented to approve. Revolving Loan Applications: Ron Brisbois, Economic Development presented the following two Revolving Loans for the committee’s recommendation: 1. Non-Metallic Components (NMC), Cuba City, WI. Loan amount will be $150,000.00 at 2.5% for a ten year term. The loan will be used for acquiring new equipment. NMC is planning to expand their operations in Cuba City by adding a 21,000 square foot addition to their current building. NMC will add 15 new full-time positions to the existing 30 employees. Starting pay will be $10.88 per hour plus benefits. NMC does thermal injection molding and manufactures plastic components for a variety of industries and companies. Motion was made by John Beinborn, seconded by Dan Timmerman, to recommend that the Revolving Loan Application for NMC be sent before the full County Board for approval. Motion carried. 2. JCRP LLC, dba Cenex of Fennimore, Fennimore, WI. Loan amount will be $40,000.00 at 2.5% for a ten year term. The loan will be used for acquiring equipment. JCP is expanding their automotive service garage in Fennimore. They will create at least 4 new full-time positions; starting wages will range from $12 - $16 per hour. Owner Rod Pink has a strong history of auto service facilities in Lancaster, Fennimore, and Prairie du Chien. They will expand their service garage and add new equipment to handle a larger volume of vehicles. Motion was made by Carol Beals, seconded by Robert Scallon, to recommend that the Revolving Loan Application for JCRP be sent before the full County Board for approval. Motion carried.
