June 29, 2011
The Park Committee of the Grant County Supervisors met on June 29, 2011 at 9:00 a.m. in
Room 143 on first floor of the Administration Building, Lancaster, WI, pursuant to the last
meeting of May 17, 2011.
Ivan Farness, Chair called the meeting to order, verification was made that the meeting was in
compliance with the open meeting laws, published in the Herald Independent and posted in two
places.
Members present: Ivan Farness, Vern Lewison, Grant Loy, Donald Splinter, Lester Jantzen,
Randy Hamann, and Richard Wilkinson. John Patcle, County Board Chair was also present.
A motion was made by Robert Scallon, seconded by Ivan Farness, to include the money in the
budget for next year to buy a new truck for the River Access Department. Motion carried.
Discussed the signs being made by the Grant County Highway Department and agreed they
needed to be set up as soon as possible.
Grant Loy, seconded by Robert Scallon, made a motion to leave the dumpster at the Jamestown
boat for this year, but not to renew the contract for next year. Motion carried.
Committee left the Administration Building to start the Boat Landing Tour:
Banfield – Check up on drain ditch.
Potosi Point – No updates needed.
McCartney – No updates needed.
Glen Haven – No updates needed.
Wyalusing – signs, no swimming signs are up. The parking lot will need to be cleaned of
the mud after the water goes down.
Bridgeport – No updates needed.
Millville – No updates needed.
Woodman – No updates needed.
Blue River – No updates needed.
Boscobel – Signs discussed, parking noted. Discussed what to do with sand being
washed in.
