The Park Committee of the Grant County Supervisors met on September 18, 2012 at 4:30 p.m. in Room
266 on second floor of the Administration Building, Lancaster, WI, pursuant to the last meeting of July
17, 2012.

reasons. Verification was made by the County Clerk, Linda K. Gebhard that the meeting was in
compliance with the open meeting law, published in the Herald Independent, posted in two places and
on the county website.
Members present: Robert Scallon, Donald Splinter, Dale Hood, and Roger Guthrie. Also present were
Larry Wolf, County Board Chair, Randy Hamann and Richard Wilkinson, River Access Employee and Todd
Johnson, Extension Comm. Resource Agent.
Agenda: Don Splinter, seconded by Roger Guthrie, made a motion to approve the amended agenda.
Motion carried.
Minutes: Roger Guthrie, seconded by Don Splinter, made a motion to approve the minutes of July 17,
2012. Motion carried.
It was reported that the River Access Truck that was sold on the auction brought $1,025.00.
Potosi Lawn Mowing: Don Splinter, seconded by Roger Guthrie made a motion that the River Access
employees will continue to mow at the Potosi Boat Landing. The Village of Potosi will continue to do the
maintenance on the signs and the road. Motion carried.
Lawn Mower: It was decided at this time the existing mower for the River Access could be used for at
least two more years. Committee members may inquire what cost a new mower would be. If the
mower brakes down in the next season, there would be adequate funds in the budget to look at a new
one at that time. No action was taken at this time.
O’Leary fees for Boat Launching: Discussion took place on the cost of upkeep for the boat landing in
Grant County. It was agreed that the nicer boat landing should have a fee imposed for use of the
landing to launch boats and park trailers. Roger Guthrie, seconded by Don Splinter, made a motion to
start charging a fee to park vehicles with trailers at Glen haven Boat Landing, O’Leary Boat Landing in
addition to the fees charged at the Wyalusing Boat Landing. The parking permits will be come effective
at the beginning of the 2013 season. Motion carried.
Status Report on Wyalusing Boat Landing: Larry Austin was present to report on the Wyalusing Boat
Landing. Larry has contacted the Army Core of Engineers to look at the problem with the sand at the
landing. Modifications will probably need to be made. The construction of wing damns may be a way to
solve some of the sand build up. There are some low areas which may need to be built up to stop the
water from getting trapped. The staging area may have to be changed. There are some abutments that
may need to be moved away from the dock, they are places to close to the dock.
Larry has talked to Travis from the Grant County Highway Department, the landing is on the list to pave
for this year. The stripping may have to be done by Iowa County, Grant County has no stripping
equipment, cost to the county may be $750.00
