HomeMy WebLinkAboutPark June 19, 2013PARK COMMITTEE MINUTES June 19, 2013 The Park Committee of the Grant County Supervisors met on June 19, 2013 at 9:00 a.m. in Room 143 on first floor of the Administration Building, Lancaster, WI, pursuant to the last meeting of May 21, 2013. Robert Scallon, Vice Chair called the meeting to order. Verification was made by the Deputy County Clerk, Karla K. Schwantes that the meeting was in compliance with the open meeting law, published in the Herald Independent, posted in two places and on the county website. Members present: Robert Scallon, Donald Splinter, Gary Ranum and Dale Hood. Also present were Larry Wolf, County Board Chair, Randy Hamann and Richard Wilkinson, River Access Employees, Dave Lambert, Highway Commissioner, Todd Johnson, Extension Comm. Resource Agent and Scott Teuber, Owner of WI River Outings Boscobel. Roger Guthrie had asked to be excused. Agenda: Don Splinter, seconded by Dale Hood, made a motion to approve the agenda. Motion carried. Minutes: Gary Ranum, seconded by Don Splinter, made a motion to approve the minutes of May 21, 2013. Motion carried. Public Comment: Robert Scallon has communicated with the Boscobel Mayor regarding the signage at the Boscobel Boat Landing. He is considering a letter to the Boscobel Dial to help answer current issues. Scott Teuber, WI River Outings presented his concerns about the signage. New signs have been installed that have created confusion. Dave Lambert addressed this issue, stating complaints had been received and signs where installed with hopes to alleviate problems. Gary Ranum would like to have the lines of communications kept open between the City, County, fisherman and the recreational community. Boat Landing Tour: Committee recessed for the tour, along with all present at 9:35 a.m. The committee members met with Robin Baumeister of Boscobel to hear her issues regarding the parking situation at the landing. Adjournment: Don Splinter, seconded by Dale Hood made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 5:45 p.m. on County Road T pursuant to the call of the chair. Motion carried.
