Grant County Conservation, Sanitation & Zoning Dept.
October 23, 2013
The County Planning & Zoning & Sanitation meeting was called to order on October 23, 2013 at 9:00 a.m. by Chairman
Lester Jantzen in the Grant County Conference room of the Administration Building, 111 S. Jefferson St, Lancaster.
Zoning & Sanitation Board members present Lester Jantzen, Dwight Nelson, Roger Guthrie, Bob Keeney, Grant Loy and
Dale Hood.
Other present Connie Eisele, David Allen, Jamie Dye, Jason Sasses, Lynda Schweikert & Janet Graney..
Dwight Nelson made a motion to approve the agenda, seconded Grant Loy. Motion carried.
Bob Keeney made a motion to approve the September 19, 2013 minutes, seconded by Dale Hood. Motion carried.
Comprehensive Map Changes:
#483 - Carl & Linda Ihm to change the zoning classification from Exclusive Agriculture – EAZ to Agriculture A-2 of
24.71ac in Section 30 & 31 T4N R2W Ellenboro Township. Bob Keeney made a motion to approve the Comprehensive
Map change for Carl & Linda Ihm in Ellenboro Township and send to the County Board for approval, seconded by Roger
Guthrie. Motion carried.
Rezone:
#481- Mary Kay Stone & Nancy Schairer & James Stone changing the zoning classification from Exclusive Agriculture –
EAZ to Agriculture A-2 of 14.42 ac for two single family dwellings in Section 17 T3N R1W of Platteville Township.
Dale Hood made a motion to approve the rezone and send it to the full County board for approval, seconded by Bob
Keeney. Motion carried.
#482 – Travis & Ashley Mumm to change the zoning classification from Exclusive Agriculture – EAZ to Conservation
Forester Recreation – CFR for recreational purpose in Section 18 T4N R1W of Clifton Township. Grant Loy made a
motion to approve the rezone and send to the County Board for approval, seconded by Roger Guthrie. Motion carried.
Conditional Use:
CUP#13-8 Hearing for a Condition Use Permit for Joe & Mary Zenz selling land for single family dwelling in the
Exclusive Ag of 1.25ac. This property is located in Section 23 T1N R2W in the NE ¼ of NE ¼ & Section 24 NW ¼ of
NW ¼ of Jamestown Township.
Roger Guthrie made a motion to approve the Condition Use Permit seconded, by Grant Loy. Motion carried.
CUP#13-9 Hearing for a Condition Use Permit for George Lazarus selling land containing of 2.112 ac for two lots for a
single family dwelling in the Exclusive Ag. This property is located in Section 30 T3N R1W in the SW ¼ of NW ¼ in
Platteville Township.
Roger Guthrie made a motion to approve the Conditional Use permit seconded, by Dale Hood. Motion carried.
Dwight Nelson voting no.
Board of Adjustment:
Lynda reported the new members for the Board of Adjustment are Neil Gardner, John Brandemuehl, Margaret Walsh,
James Steiger and Larry Butson.
Revised Budget:
Lynda handed out the new revised budget with changes to the sick leave by back changes. Dwight Nelson made a motion
to approve the 2014 new revised budget, seconded by Dale Hood. Motion carried.
Sanitary Permit Summary:
Roger Guthrie made a motion to approve the Sanitary Permit Summary, seconded by Dwight Nelson. Motion carried.
Outstanding Orders/Compliance:
Grant Loy made a motion to approve the Outstanding Orders, seconded by Roger Guthrie. Motion carried.
Bill & Vouchers:
Dwight Nelson made a motion to approve the bills & vouchers, seconded by Lester Jantzen. Motion carried.
Roger Guthrie made a motion to adjourn the meeting until November 21, 2013 at 9:00am in the Grant County Conference
room, seconded by Dale Hood. Motion carried.
