GRANT COUNTY SANITATION & ZONING
April 2, 2013 Meeting
Lester Jantzen called a joint meeting between the County Planning Zoning & Sanitation and Land & Water Conservation
committee.
Dwight Nelson made a motion to approve the agenda, seconded by Pat Schroeder. Motion carried.
Lester Jantzen did a roll call vote was taken for the Zoning & Sanitation: Dwight Nelson, Pat Schroeder, Grant Loy, Dale
Hood, Bob Keeney, Roger Guthrie and Lester Jantzen. All present.
Mark Stead did a roll call vote for the Land & Water and Conversation. All members where present.
Discussion and possible action on the vacancy of Zoning & Sanitation Administrator and/or combing Land & Water
Conservation and the Zoning & Sanitation Department.
Lynda Schweikert presented a breakdown of the two departments and there current staff and showed how it would be if
they combine the staff. That it would element the part time person and one vehicle.
Joyce Roling handed out the Sauk County stead that they had done. She recommended that everyone look it over and
report back to their committee.
Todd Johnson form the extension talk that sometime when you consolidate two departments it is not a cost saving when
there is a transition and time training Department workers.
Question where asked between the Board members from both Committees.
Saving to the County, eliminating one department head, board committee and low the budget. How big where the other
county and how much was agriculture land.
Roger Guthrie made a motion that Joyce Roling, Todd Johnson, Terry Loeffelholz and Linda Schweikert do a study in
combing the two offices and also with the Chairman from both Planning & Zoning & Sanitation and Land Water
Conservation, 2nd by Grant Loy. Motion carried.
Motion was made to adjourn by Grant Loy and 2nd by Dwight Nelson. Motion carried.
