GRANT COUNTY SANITATION & ZONING
May 16, 2013 Meeting
The County Planning & Zoning & Sanitation meeting was called to order on May 16, 2013 at 9:00 a.m. by Chairman
Lester Jantzen in the Grant County Board room of the Administration Building, 111 S. Jefferson St, Lancaster.
Zoning & Sanitation Board members present Lester Jantzen, Dwight Nelson, Roger Guthrie, Bob Keeney, Grant Loy and
Dale Hood. Absent Pat Schroeder
Dwight Nelson made a motion to approve the amended agenda, seconded Grant Loy. Motion carried.
Bob Keeney made a motion to approve the April 18, 2013 minutes, seconded by Roger Guthrie. Motion carried.
Comprehensive Map Changes: none
Rezone: none
Conditional Use Permit: none
Combining Zoning & Sanitation with LWC:
After a lengthy discussion and hearing the pros & cons on moving the Sanitation & Zoning Department with the Land &
Water Conversation a motion was made. Dwight Nelson made a motion to combining the Departments, seconded by
Grant Loy.
A roll call vote was taken. Roger Guthrie, yes, Dale Hood, no, Grant Loy, yes, Dwight Nelson, yes, Bob Keeney, present,
Lester Jantzen, yes. Motion passed with 4 yes, 1 no and 1 present.
LTE Technician:
The LTE Technician position was discussed and no action taken at this time.
Repair Van or different vehicle:
It is going to cost around $3000.00 to repair the Van. Jeff talked to the LWC and the Sheriff department to see if the
sanitation and zoning could use one of their vehicles for doing inspection. At this time the Sheriff department as a couple
of cars that we could use.
Bod Keeney made a motion to contact a Salvage yard to dispose of the van, seconded by Roger Guthrie. Motion carried.
Sanitary Permit Summary:
Dwight Nelson made a motion to approve the Sanitary Permit Summary, seconded by Grant Loy. Motion carried.
Outstanding Orders/Compliance:
Bob Keeney made a motion to approve the Outstanding Orders, seconded by Roger Guthrie. Motion carried.
Bill & Vouchers:
Dwight Nelson made a motion to approve the Outstanding Orders, seconded by Grant Loy. Motion carried.
Dwight Nelson made a motion to adjourn the meeting, seconded by Dale Hood. Motion carried.
Next meeting is June 20, at 9:00am.
