HomeMy WebLinkAboutJune 2 MinutesPUBLIC PROPERTY MINUTES JUNE 2, 2009 The Public Property Committee of the Grant County Board of Supervisors met in the Grant County Administration Building, Room 266, in Lancaster, WI on Tuesday, June 2, 2009 at 9:00 a.m. The meeting was called to order by Chair Dwight Nelson. John Patcle, seconded by Stephen Adrian, moved that the meeting was in compliance with the open meeting law. Motion carried. Members present: Dwight Nelson, Stephen Adrian, Maynard Behncke, Linda S. Adrian, John Beinborn, Patrick Schroeder. Also present was John Patcle, County Board Chair. John Beinborn, seconded by Linda Adrian, moved to approve the agenda. Motion carried. County Board Compensation/Insurance/Committee Restructure/Rules: Dwight Nelson opened the discussion on the compensation, he stated that at this time the appointed Citizen Members did not have the same compensation benefit as the regular Board members because they were not offered the Health Insurance. He did not see why they couldn’t be compensated differently than the regular Board Members. Discussion followed, the committee put together the following numbers. ADRC committee 7 citizen members 84 meeting per year COP committee 2 citizen members 8 meetings per year Health committee 3 citizen members 36 meetings per year Land and Water 1 citizen member 12 meetings per year Unified 4 citizen members 48 meeting per year Board of Adjustments 3 citizen members 12 meetings per year 20 citizen members total 200 meeting per year An estimated amount of $18,000.00 would be what the county would have to pay out to the citizen members per year. The following motions were made after discussion: John Beinborn, seconded by Maynard Behncke, made a motion, to take to the next Finance Meeting, to make a recommendation to transfer all Committee and Commission compensation budgeted monies that are now set up in the Departments budgets and transfer that money to the County Board Chair’s Budget line item when the new board becomes in existence in 2010. Motion carried. Stephen Adrian, seconded by Pat Schroeder, made a motion that all appointed Citizen Members be paid $50.00 per committee meeting that they attend, contingent on a decision from JoAnn Millhouse, Corporation Counsel. Motion carried. DocumentsPDFComplete Click Here & Upgrade Expanded Features Unlimited Pages County Clerk Storage Area: Bryan Martens had WHV, the company that handles the Administration Buildings heating and cooling issues, look at the storage area. They will submit a bid on the work that it would involve to make the County Clerk’s storage area and the Treasurers/Deed’s storage area a controlled temperature. Bryan will submit this bid at the next Public Property meeting for discussion. Further discussion at a future meeting will include the status of phase protectors for Administration Building to protect the equipment against power outages.
