The regular quarterly Grant County Traffic Safety Commission Meeting was called to order by
Captain Tony Sheckles at 1:11 p.m. The following Traffic Safety Commission members and

Confirmation of Open Meeting Law: The agenda was posted in the lobby at the Sheriff’s Office
and at the County Clerk’s Office.
Adoption of Agenda: The agenda was approved in motions by Jeff and second by Brian.
Approval of the minutes from the last meeting were motioned by Bob and seconded by Dave.
All above motions carried.
New Business: There has been a request for a speed study on Hwy 80 by the Milvern
Subdivision in Muscoda. The municipality should send the request to the state and the speed
study will be done.
The City of Boscobel is requesting a speed reduction on the Highway leading towards the bridge
by the boat landing. There are many people that walk on this highway. This area is part of a
trail project that is currently being discussed.
The Village of Livingston is having speed issues on Cty E coming in west. The speed limit goes
from 55 mph to 25 mph. Travelers do not slow down. Deputy Jacobson has been enforcing this
more and it has not helped. This is mostly a daytime issue. Deputy Jacobson will get something
in writing from the village and the state will look at this. There is a speed trailer available that
could be used in this area.
ATV/UTV Requests: There are five requests from the Ridge Runners of Grant County. After
much discussion it was motioned by Dave and seconded by Brian to table the requests until the
next meeting in May. This will give the Highway Committee time to discuss the routes. Motion
carried.
Citizen Complaints: There are no citizen complaints to discuss at this time.
Old Business: There is no old business to discuss at this time.
Captain Sheckles reviewed the stats for the last quarter. There was 1 fatal in the last quarter with
alcohol being a factor.
Bob Bott from Wisconsin Department of Transportation reviewed the Transportation Safety Report and
Highway Safety Input.
Other Business: There is no other business to discuss at this time.
The next meeting date will be on Wednesday, May 20 at 1:00 p.m.
It was motioned by Brian and seconded by Jeff to adjourn at 2:04 p.m. Motion carried.
