The regular quarterly Grant County Traffic Safety Commission Meeting was called to order by
Captain Tony Sheckles at 1:00 p.m. The following Traffic Safety Commission members and
guests present:

Confirmation of Open Meeting Law: The agenda was posted in the lobby at the Sheriff’s Office
and at the County Clerk’s Office.
Adoption of Agenda: The agenda was approved. Approval of the minutes from the last
meeting were motioned by Bob and seconded by Brian. Motion carried.
ATV/UTV Requests: It was motioned by Dave and seconded by Brian to approve Old Cty B to
61 and Cty U to Reynolds Ridge to Pikes Peak. Motion carried.
The route requested on Cty Q east of Fennimore to Tormey Road and Switzer is tabled. Dave
will contact Reggie Reynolds, this is his property and would not need approval.
It was motioned by Bob and seconded by Dave to recommend the route on Main Road to North
Andover. Motion carried
It was motioned by Brian and seconded by Bob to recommend the route on VV from Good
Enough Hollow to Ramsy going South. Motion carried.
It was motioned by Bob and seconded by Brian to recommend the route on Y to 81 to 50 feet
short of Hwy 133. Motion carried.
Routes that were requested that have crossings will need to be approved by the state. Sgt.
Bierman asked the members of the ATV Club that were present to please help Law
Enforcement educate people who are using these routes about safety. Getting private trails
throughout the county is still an issue
New Business: There is no New Business at this time.
Citizen Complaints: It was asked if there are any guidelines for requesting ATV/UTV routes.
There are none at this time.
Old Business: Dave stated that the students at UW Platteville did a nice job on the speed study. The
speed limit signs are placed appropriately.
The Boscobel Speed Study has been completed and is still being reviewed.
There has been no request received from the Village of Muscoda for the speed study.
The ATV Policy is still being worked on.
Captain Sheckles passed out the quarterly statistics. There have been 2 fatalities this year.
The State Stats were passed out and discussed.
Other Business: There is no other business to discuss at this time.
The next meeting date will be on Wednesday, August 19 at 1:00 p.m.
It was motioned by Bob and seconded by Tony to adjourn at 2:48 p.m. Motion carried.
