The regular quarterly Grant County Traffic Safety Commission Meeting was called to order by
Sgt. Brian Bierman at 1:04 p.m. The following Traffic Safety Commission members and guests
present:

Confirmation of Open Meeting Law: The agenda was posted in the lobby at the Sheriff’s Office
and at the County Clerk’s Office.
Adoption of Agenda: The agenda and minutes from the previous meeting were approved in
motions by Dave and second by Luke. Motion carried.
New Business: No New Business to discuss at this time.
Old Business: There is no Old Business to discuss at this time.
The Quarterly Stats were passed out by Sgt. Bierman and discussed with the committee. There
were 2 fatalities last quarter and 1 one fatal this quarter.
The Transportation Safety Report was discussed. Grants and legislation are focusing on
distracted driving.
ATV/UTV Requests: Tom Zenz was present to discuss the recommendation of the route from
CTH A, from Cannon Road to Dry Hollow Road. The Town of Ellenboro approved the route but
the WisDOT has not approved the crossing of Hwy 61. It was motioned by Dave and seconded
by Jeff H. to table this until the next meeting. Motion carried.
It was motioned by Dave and seconded by Tom to recommend the route that includes a section
of Cty Z down to Sinsiniwa. Motion carried.
Beetown Township and Ellenboro Township have opened up their roads for ATV/UTV use. The
routes have to be signed properly.
Citizen Complaints: There was a citizen complaint on collecting insurance information at
accidents in the City of Platteville. Accident reports are available on the state website. Drivers
are encouraged to exchange information when involved in an accident.
Other Business: There is no other business to discuss at this time.
The next meeting date will be on Wednesday, May 18 at 1:00 p.m.
It was motioned by Jeff K. and seconded by Jeff H. to adjourn at 1:40 p.m. Motion carried.
