Confirmation of Open Meeting Law: The agenda was posted in the lobby at the Community
Services Building, the Administration Building and on the Grant County website.
Adoption of Agenda: The agenda was approved in motions by Bob Keeney and second by Nate
Dreckman. The minutes from the previous meeting were approved in motions by Justin
McLimans and second by Jon Knautz. Motions carried.
New Business: It has been requested by the Highway Department to reduce the speed limit
from 45 mph to 40mph on the Kieler Frontage Road that runs parallel to Hwy 151. The
Highway Department applied for federal money for a project in that area and the curbs do not
meet the standards. It was suggested that the curbs be redone or the speed limit be reduced in
order to receive the funds and meet the standards. Nate Dreckman second by Bob Keeney
made a motion to lower the speed limit from 45mph to 40mph. Motion carried.
There have been multiple crashes at the round-a-bout at 81/61. The Highway Department has
recently done several things recommended by the Department of Transportation to make the
round-a-bout safer. It was decided to table the discussion for the next meeting and see if the
larger signs, flags and blinking lights have helped.
Old Business: There is no update on the ATV/UTV route requests that were sent to the state a
year ago. Todd Miller will reach out to the state again and update the committee when he gets
a response.
Citizen Complaints: There are no Citizen Complaints to discuss.
Other Business: No Other Business to discuss at this time.
The county statistics were not discussed by Todd Miller. He is working on a way to get statistics
from each agency. Currently only a couple of agencies consistently report their statistics to the
Sheriff’s Office so the information reported to the committee is not accurate. The fatalities will
be discusses with the state statistics.
The state statistics were reviewed and discussed.
It was motioned by Justin McLimans and seconded by Nate Dreckman to adjourn to November
12, 2024 at 1:00 pm. Motion carried.
Respectfully submitted,
Todd Miller
