HomeMy WebLinkAbout02 Task Force August 22 2022 minutesGRANT COUNTY OPIOID SETTLEMENT TASK FORCE August 22, 2022 The Opioid Settlement Task Force met on Monday, August 22, 2022 at 8:00 a.m. at the Administration Building, 111 S. Jefferson Street, Lancaster, WI 53813 in Room 264, Second Floor. Those in attendance in the room were: Carol Beals, Jeff Kindrai, Robert Keeney, Tonya White, Gary Ranum, Jeff Lockhart, Megan Wolf, Troy Maggied and Pastor Mark Hoehne. Those present via Zoom were: Michelle Farrell, Ellen Taylor, Matt Honer, Jim Boebel, Griffin Koziol, Nate Dreckman and Grant County Herald Independent. The meeting was called to order at 8:00 a.m. by Robert Keeney. The County Clerk verified that the meeting was in compliance with the open meeting law, posted in the Administration Building, Courthouse and on the county website. Agenda: Jeff Kindrai, second by Mark Hoehne made a motion to approve the agenda. Motion carried by voice vote. Discussion on the Opioid crisis and settlements: Jeff Kindrai inquired if the decision by the Joint Finance Committee would hamper Grant County efforts. Jeff Lockhart explained that was only for the monies that the State of Wisconsin set aside. Discussion on Scope of Needs Assessment related to Opioid Settlement Funds: Troy Maggied from Southwestern Wisconsin Regional Planning presented the proposal. Each county will receive an analysis specific with county trends. SWWRPC will do joint interviews and roundtable discussions. SWWRPC would present draft recommendations to the counties in October or November. Discussion on Possible Action on SWWRPC Proposal for Needs Assessment: Mark Hoehne, second by Megan Wolf made a motion to proceed with SWWRPC proposal for Opioid Needs Assessment. Motion carried by voice vote. Discussion on recommendations for use of Opioid Settlement Funds: It was the consensus of the group that the needs assessment should be completed first. Discussion on future meeting date and time: The next meeting will take place at the end of September or early October. Adjournment: Jeff Kindrai, second by Jeff Lockhart made a motion to adjourn. Motion carried by voice vote.
