October 31, 2023
The Opioid Settlement Task Force met on Tuesday, October 31, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. at the Administration
Building, 111 S. Jefferson Street, Lancaster, WI 53813 in Room 264.
Those present in the room were: Robert Keeney, Nate Dreckman, Carol Beals, Gary Ranum, Tonya White
and Shane Drinkwater. Those present by Zoom were: Jim Boebel and Michelle Farrell.
The meeting was called to order at 1:00 p.m. by Robert Keeney. Tonya White verified that the meeting
was in compliance with the open meeting law, posted in the Administration Building, Courthouse and on
the county website.
Agenda: Gary Ranum, second by Nate Dreckman made a motion to approve the agenda. Motion carried
by voice vote.
Minutes: Nate Dreckman, second by Carol Beals made a motion to approve the minutes from the
October 3, 2023 meeting with one addition. Motion carried by voice vote.
Allocation of Opioid Litigation Funds: Prior discussions have shown that there needs to be an
application process. In 2024, funds have been budgeted for prevention, residential training, wellness
and staffing support and strategic planning. The Task Force members feel that reviewing and allocating
funds from the applications on a quarterly basis would be best. The applications will be due to the Task
Force on the 10th of the following months: January, April, July and October of each year.
Future of the Opioid Settlement Task Force: It was the consensus of the Task Force members present
that the Task Force stay in place to review and allocate the funding to those who applied.
Adjournment: Gary Ranum, second by Nate Dreckman made a motion to adjourn. Motion carried by
voice vote.
