HomeMy WebLinkAbout09 September 2025 minutesAging & Disability Resource Center of Grant County Board Minutes September 17, 2025 The meeting was called to order by Committee Chair Gary Kjos at 9:00 a.m. Attendance: Vicki Hirsch, Mark Stead, Lori Reid, Lester Jantzen, Gary Kjos, Valerie Bailey, Mary Lou Bausch, Robert Keeney, Kathy Kopp, Courtney Brookhart and Della McCarville. Compliance with Open Meeting Law: It was noted the meeting was in compliance with the open meeting law, posted on the county website, in the Administration Building, CSB, sent to the newspaper and radio station. Agenda Approval: Lester Jantzen, seconded by Valerie Bailey made a motion to approve the amended agenda. Motion carried by voice vote. Approval of Minutes: Mark Stead, seconded by Vicki Hirsch made a motion to approve the minutes from the August 20, 2025 meeting with the correction of adding: “Lester Jantzen, seconded by Mark Stead made a motion to return to open session.” Motion carried by voice vote. Public Comment/Communication: There were no public comments or communications. Advocacy reports or activities • SNAP Resolution: A resolution regarding the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) was presented to the Executive Committee and will be forwarded to the October County Board agenda. Several counties are requesting this resolution due to anticipated financial cuts to SNAP, which will increase administrative costs for local governments. The resolution asks the State to fund 50% of those administrative costs. • Car Show: The Orchard Manor Car Show had a great turnout from both the public and residents. It was a beautiful day and the residents enjoyed the cars and live music. Funding for the music was provided through remaining ADRC marketing funds. A list of upcoming events was distributed. 2026 Budget: Budget packets were distributed. Mark Stead, seconded by Mary Lou Bausch made a motion to approve the 2026 budget. Motion carried by voice vote. Nutrition • Meal Cost: Meal cost tool indicates that costs for home delivery in 2024 was $16.92 and $20.32 for congregate. Agency cost is $16.92 plus 2.7% (CPI) equals out to $17.38. Vicki Hirsch, seconded by Valerie Bailey made a motion to approve the agency cost of $17.38. Motion carried by voice vote. • Suggested Donations: Kathy Kopp, seconded by Mark Stead made a motion to raise the suggested donation to $5.00. Motion carried by voice vote. Transportation Programming • 5311/85.20 Resolution: Lester Jantzen, seconded by Mark Stead made a motion to approve the 5311/85.20 resolution and forward to the County Board. Motion carried by voice vote. • 85.21 Resolution: Valerie Bailey, seconded by Lester Jantzen made a motion to approve the 85.21 resolution and forward to the County Board. Motion carried by voice vote. • FYOD (Find your own driver): Vicki Hirsch, seconded by Valerie Bailey made a motioned to approve Find Your Own driver pilot program. Motion carried by voice vote. • Fares and scheduling fees: Lori Reid will get more information on fees charged by other counties. Approval of Vouchers: Mary Lou Bausch, seconded by Kathy Kopp made a motion to approve the vouchers. Motion carried by voice vote. Financial Report: Vicki Hirsch, seconded by Kathy Kopp made a motion to approve the financial report. Motion carried by voice vote. Reports ADRC Director report: • State is working on the Grant Lori is hopeful that the Grant will be approved. • Lori is working with Tom from Iowa County on the MOU and have reached an agreement to move forward to be approved. • Gave all of farmers market vouchers out. • Worked on 2026 Budget. • Submitted the 5310 Grant for Orchard Manor. • Lori is working on a MOU with Simons. • Outreach at Orchard Manor car show. • Medicare open enrollment will be starting in October. • Worked on final GWAAR budget for 2025. • Elderfest is coming October 24, 9-11:30. The theme is “Wicked” this year. ADRC – Program report: • I&A staff are busy and have walk ins every day. • May see increase in people needing help with Medicare enrollment.
