EDUCATION/FAIR COMMITTEE MEETING
UWEX Conference Room

9:30 a.m.
The meeting was called to order by Chairman Roger Guthrie. Present in addition to Guthrie were Joe
Mumm, Kathy Kopp, Pat Schroeder, Gary Northouse, Mike Timmerman, Bob Keeney, Amy Olson, Lori
Vesperman, Nate Dreckman, Charisse Orth, Deb Reukauf, Todd Miller, Steve Braun, Vince Heiman,
Gabby Heiman, Clare Heberlein, Karla Witzig.
The meeting notice was posted at the Administration Building, Extension Office and Youth & Ag Center
and media by Amy Olson.
Motion by Gary Northouse, seconded by Kathy Kopp, to approve the agenda. Motion carried.
Carnival - Vince reported on the carnival and turned the financial statement in from Friday.
Policing – minor issues. Deb Reukauf suggested asking for exemption from 10:00 p.m. UTV ordinance in
the city limits during the 2026 Fair.
Steve Braun passed out today’s forecast. Chance of showers and thunderstorms in afternoon. Expecting
high heat.
Amy reviewed grandstand, gate, food and beer stand numbers for this year versus 2024.
Committee members will meet at the Livestock Facility to hand out Outstanding Fair Persons plaques.
Judging – Karla Witzig and Clare Heberlein discussed the Wednesday goat show.
Exhibits/Exhibitors – A rabbit passed overnight. Amy followed protocol by contacting the veterinarian
and DATCP.
Recess until Sunday at 9:30 a.m. Motion carried.
