EDUCATION/FAIR COMMITTEE MEETING

9:30 a.m.
The meeting was called to order by Chairman Roger Guthrie. Present in addition to Guthrie were Joe
Mumm, Kathy Kopp, Pat Schroeder, Gary Northouse, Mike Timmerman, Bob Keeney, Amy Olson, Nate
Dreckman, Charisse Orth, Deb Reukauf, Todd Miller, Steve Braun, Vince Heiman, Gabby Heiman and
Andy Puetz.
The meeting notice was posted at the Administration Building, Extension Office and Youth & Ag Center
and media by Amy Olson.
Motion by Gary Northouse, seconded by Pat Schroeder, to approve the agenda. Motion carried.
Carnival - Vince reported on the carnival and turned the financial statement in from Saturday. The rides
will be open noon – 8:00 p.m. as advertised.
Policing – no issues.
Steve Braun – weather should be good, with no rain.
Motion by Pat Schroeder, seconded by Gary Northouse to have free gates all day today. Motion carried.
Some processing plants wanted to switch times to receive pigs. The times will stay as is.
Judging – Goat show concerns were discussed with Andy Puetz, along with location of goats. There were
sheep missing from a diorama.
Exhibits/Exhibitors – There was a complaint regarding cleanliness in the dairy barn.
Entertainment – the Night of Destruction Demo Derby will not be held.
Discussion was held on pit passes and the speaker system during the livestock auction.
Motion by Joe Mumm, seconded by Kathy Kopp to adjourn. Motion carried.
