HomeMy WebLinkAboutHHS Health Dept Directors Report OctoberGrant County Health Department Director/Health Officer Health & Human Services Committee Report Date: October 2025 Updates: We continue to keep an eye on the measles outbreak nationwide. Currently there are 36 cases in Wisconsin, all in Oconto County Here is a link to DHS Measles information as well as a dashboard that provides updates for WI Immunizations: Measles | Wisconsin Department of Health Services We also monitor the states around us We added a new school into our school nursing duties. Fennimore School District had lost their school nurse very early into the new school year. We will now be providing Emergency Services Nursing for them. This nurse is there for consultation, teaching, and delegation, as well as screenings and immunization compliance check. We offer this to all schools in Grant County who do not employ a school nurse. Update on EMR- we continue to be in discussion regarding best fit. It’s been a little difficult just keeping on both companies to respond in a timely manner and making sure things fit with IT. Our goal is to have a decision made and paperwork started by the end of this month. Our 140 Review went well. 4 staff from OPPA, Office of Policy and Practice Alignment, and DHS came down and asked us a set of questions for about 3 hours. They do this to ensure we are providing mandated programming as a Health Department. We will get a written report and then a certificate stating we are recertified as a Level II Health Department when it is all complete. This happens every 5 years. Please see the attachment for more information. The Know Your Rights speaker mentioned in the last Director’s report has been cancelled at this time I completed the New Health Officer 3 part training in September and will “graduate” at the Public Health Operations Conference in February Our OnMedia commercial is out there on streaming services, and I shared our news debut on Channel 27
