HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes-October 16, 2025 HIGHWAY COMMITTEE MEETING October 16, 2025 The Highway Committee met on Thursday October 16, 2025 at 9:00 am, at the County Highway Department in Lancaster, the meeting was also available via Zoom. Members present were, Patrick Schroeder, Roger Guthrie, Diane Nelson and Lester Jantzen. Roger Guthrie asked to be excused. Others present were Nate Dreckman, Bob Keeney, Jon Knautz, Donna Bohnenkamp, Trenton Wood, Steve Morgan, Jason Kieler, Terry Soloman, Tom Shields and Ben Meir. On Zoom: Tonya White, The Herald Independent. Carry Uthe, and Dallas Hall Notice of the meeting was sent to the Herald Independent, Administration Building, posted at the Highway Department and on the Grant County web site. Pat Schroeder called the October 16 Highway Committee meeting to order. Agenda: Lester Jantzen, seconded by Roger Guthrie moved to approve the October 16th agenda with the Shop Lead Worker items being moved to the top. Motion carried. Minutes: Lester Jantzen, seconded by Roger Guthrie moved to approve the minutes from the September 18th Highway Committee Meeting. Motion carried. Check Listing: Diane Nelson, seconded by Roger Guthrie, moved to approve the September Check Listing report as printed. Motion carried. Mechanics are doing preventative maintenance on the section trucks in preparation for winter maintenance. Fall filters have been distributed and installed on main line trucks. The Shop Lead worker and Supervisors have been looking into a new GPS program for the State patrol trucks and possibly the County section trucks. The August Requisition has not been sent to the State, there are reclassifications that need to be done before it can be submitted. The County account balances were also reviewed. The 2026 Township Resolutions were sign by the Committee. The State has been getting in their seasonal salt and working on a couple of dips in the road with the state-owned mud jack pump. They will start mowing the roadsides on October 13th. The County has been receiving salt and cleaning out ditches. They also finished up removing the boat dock at Wyalusing and have been working for townships on various projects. Travis discussed the DOT road reclassifications for a number of our state, county and municipal roadways. Commissioner Report: CTH A West of Lancaster is behind schedule, Mathy is in charge of the paving project. A contract has been signed with Castle Rock Township to handle their winter maintenance for the 2025-2026 season. The Highway department is presently at full staff.
